Find a Cure for Bad Breath
When you are looking to try and cure your bad breath, you really need
to get to the root of the problem and what is causing it if you want to
make your treatment the most effective. Bad breath affects
one in four people so it is not a rare condition and it is good to know
that it can be cured with the right action.
There are many different causes of bad breath such as oral bacteria,
dentures, dry mouth, what you eat, and smoking to name but a
few. Each and every one of these causes relate to either long
or short term bad breath and you will be pleased to learn that there
really are things you can do to help these conditions.
Bad Breath Caused by Oral Bacteria
This is the main cause of chronic bad breath but it can be successfully
eliminated by thorough and regular teeth brushing, flossing and
scraping of your tongue. Oral bacterium lives in your mouth
and your tongue is one of its favourite places. If you can
get rid of food particles and plaque from your mouth the bacteria will
not be able to thrive, so by brushing and flossing regularly this
problem can be totally eliminated.
Bad Breath Caused by Dentures

If dentures are not cleaned thoroughly and regularly pieces of food can
be caught in the dentures – a perfect way for bacteria to flourish in
your mouth.
Bad Breath Caused by Dry Mouth
Having a dry mouth can cause short term or chronic bad breath as a lack
of moisture means the tissues of the mouth are not getting cleaned
properly and bacteria remains there. Drinking plenty of water
and juice will stock up the moisture in your mouth tissues and this in
turn will flush out the bacteria. It is important to brush
and floss on a regular basis when a dry mouth condition is experienced
as this will also help to stop bad breath.
Bad Breath Caused by What You Eat
Pungent foods such as garlic and onions usually cause short term bad
breath. A good solution to this is to consume a sprig of
parsley, some cloves, fennel seeds or peppermint to stave off the
odour. However, it may take a day or so for the smell to
disappear altogether as this particular odour starts from deep down in
your intestinal tract.
Bad Breath Caused by Smoking
The smell of the tobacco when smoking not only causes chronic bad
breath but also leaves your mouth more open to gum disease, which is
yet another cause of bad breath. The only serious way to avoid this
cause of bad breath is to stop smoking.
So, in order to find a cure for bad breath, the remedy has to match the
cause. When you have discovered just what route you have to
take to get rid of your bad breath, you will be faced with a whole new
beginning.
